Carrie Underwood wants to help too!!!
Carrie Underwood also gives her help to contribute to her home town. As she was finishing her Blown Away tour she goes home with $1 million dollars in a donation to American Red Cross for the disaster relief. The money has come from the earnings from the concert proceeds. “with the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes.” She says. Chief development officer for the Red Cross said “Through the generosity of Carrie, the American Red Cross can quickly respond with shelter, food and comfort now and with lasting help as they move toward recovery.” I think this is a great thing to do in the world. And the people who have helped with the disaster that has happened should be very proud they can help people when in the time of need. People are grateful for the things that you people have done for them. It’s amazing how people can care for people from where they grew up. My mom told me today helping and going back to where you came from keeps you grounded meaning it helps you remember where you’re from.

Blake Shelton's Kindness is Truly Amazing
Blake Shelton “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” on May 29th in Oklahoma City at Chesapeake Energy Arena. His wife and he and Reba McEntire will be attending this special moment. It will be live on T.V at 9 p.m. on NBC. This event is to raise money for the May tornadoes Relief fund. The money will be used to rebuild in Oklahoma. This is a sweet thing to do especially for him to give back to the place he grew up. He says “Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy.” This tornado killed 24 people, including 10 children. This is a devastating thing. Personally the government should also help more with all these natural things that have been happening. It’s great that some people still have a heart for those in need. You’re doing a great thing Blake and I’m sure others are very thankful for your help. You have a great and kind heart I hope things go great and as planned. Good luck!!!

"Is This 2013 or 1913?"
Darius Rucker is 47 years old and doesn’t let anyone bother him! Using twitter someone tweeted on his wall and said “Leave country to the white folk”. Darius was outstandingly offended and replied “Wow is this 2013 or 1913?” also saying “If any hater thinks I care what you think I don’t make music for you so don’t listen!” Country music can be for anyone that was not right for someone to do that to an amazing person and a singer. He makes great music and if you don’t like the music people make then simply don’t listen to it. We have so many genres of music and so many races singing in each category. It’s sad that racism still exists today. It’s not right to these fellow people of the U.S. People shouldn’t teach their children to hate another race. I was raised as you were to show respect until someone disrespected you. This society is wrong for treating others this way. I know I can’t change people’s minds for what they believe in but all I wish is for it to be over. Don’t bring someone down because of what or who they are. Let them be everyone is free in this world.

George Strait and his 60th #1 Hit!!!
Just celebrating his 61st birthday on Saturday George Strait has hit his 60th #1 hit with “Give It All We Got Tonight” it’s his 115th single. Calling him King of Country fellow artists say “Happy Birthday” and “Congratulations”. The first artist who has 60 #1 hits! He still plans on recording new music and release new albums but is soon retiring from the road after 2014. He first got to the charts in 1981. I think he is a great singer and he is one of many people that have showed me the pathway to country music. Congratulations you have done great and have made beautiful music. Your music is believable and makes so many realize what love should be about. But I have to say one of my favorites is “All my Ex’s Live in Texas” my mother and I sing that song all the time out of nowhere. You are a person who has impacted my life for music. Thank you for being so great and congratulations and I really hope there are more songs to come out of you.

This is Me!
My name is Jessica. I attend Diamond Oaks. I am in the Health Tech. lab. My home school is Taylor High School. I love music it gets me through the day when I’m not in such a great mood. It makes me really mad when people say bad things about country music. I don’t say anything to them about the music other people choose to listen to. Everyone has their own taste of music, which they should be able to express and enjoy listening to. I’m going to write about things that happen in the country music life.
